Stack & nest containers are designed to be stackable one inside the other. This is why the boxes do not have straight sidewalls, but instead have a a slightly angled shape.

The volume is reduced by simply turning the container. If you rotate the upper container in a stack by 180 degrees, it slides into the container below and the volume is reduced. These are nesting containersand only the volume of the lowest container in the stack is not reduced. Depending on the container type, volume can be reduced by up to 75%.
